What to Expect Ahead of the U.S. Open

 

Can I stay at the Resort during the U.S. Open?

No. Pinehurst Resort accommodations are fully booked from June 9 – 16, 2024. Tee time availability is limited between May 28 – June 20, 2024.

 

Will there be a modified golf experience in the weeks before and after the championship?

Yes. Guests can expect changes around the main resort clubhouse, based on the schedule below. Please note, no walk on play is available between June 3 and June 17. (Subject to change):

Driving Range and Practice Areas
The Driving Range at Maniac Hill is modified to allow members and guests to hit into a temporary net while U.S. Open construction occurs through May 2025. The range is closed between May 28 and July 8, 2024.
The Chipping Area/Putting Green/Thistle Dhu Setup will be modified between April 1 and June 20, 2024.

Course Modifications
Pinehurst No. 1 – Modified to a 16-hole course starting April 1 until July 31, 2024 (Holes 1 and 18 closed due to U.S. Open construction). Course closed between May 20 and June 23, 2024.
Pinehurst No. 2 – Course closed between May 28 and June 19, 2024.
Pinehurst No. 4 – Hole 1 modified to a par-3 starting May 6 until June 30, 2024. Course closed between May 20 and June 27, 2024.
The Cradle – Closed between June 3 and June 29, 2024.

Golf Academy
The Teaching Academy has been relocated to Course No. 8.

Facility Impact
The Golf Shop, Locker Room Facilities, and the Padgett Center will be closed between May 28, 2024 and June 20, 2024.
Members Club, Swimming Pools, Padgett Center & Resort Clubhouse are closed between June 3 and June 20, 2024.

Tennis and Croquet
Pinehurst Tennis Facility and Courts 1 & 2 closed between May 28 and June 24, 2024.
Tennis Courts 3 – 6 are closed between April 25 and July 14, 2024.
Tennis Courts 7 – 10 are closed between May 13 and June 30, 2024.
Croquet Courts are closed between May 13 and September, 2024.

Dining outlets at The Carolina Hotel, Holly Inn and The Manor will be operating as usual, though hours may vary. Pinehurst Brewing Company and Villaggio Ristorante will operate as usual. The Deuce and 91st Hole will be closed beginning June 3.
